Ligand binding promotes EGF receptor homo- and heterodimerization with ErbB family members, associated with cell
growth and survival, increased angiogenesis, and tumor metastasis. Elevated EGFR expression occurs in a significant
fraction of ovarian cancer cases. Additionally, there is evidence that increased EGFR expression is an early event in
ovarian cancer development and there is evidence that early changes in EGF receptor expression may promote
ovarian cancer. We aim at studying the contribution of activated EGFR to ovarian cancer progression.
