I work in higher education as the Dean for the School of Applied Sciences at Mount Ida College. I provide
leadership, vision and direction to the school and its academic programs, ensure compliance with
requirements for quality and assessment of programs, improve student success, retention, and graduation
rates, contribute to strategic planning and creation/revision of policies, and collaborate with the provost, peer
deans and faculty colleagues in transforming our college.
My research focuses on nanotechnology, biosensing and ovarian cancer.
Mount Ida College is a private not-for profit institution that has four schools:
Applied Sciences, Social Sciences & Humanities, Business, and Design.
The School of Applied Sciences offers Bachelor degrees in Biology, Biology with concentrations in
pre-pharmacy or pre-medicine, Forensic Science, Environmental Sustainability, Dental Hygiene, Veterinary
Technology, and Funeral sciences.
The school has a requirement for experiential learning in all of its undergraduate programs along with a focus
on service learning, community engagement, and travel abroad courses.
